Raising angel funding is literally a quest – an often challenging search to find angel investors who will believe in you and your business. I’ve helped hundreds of entrepreneurs on this journey, and I’ve distilled the essence of this process into a one-day workshop that gives you the foundational knowledge and the practical tools to help you achieve your goal: to get funded.

The workshop experience is structured around the five basic steps in your quest:

  1. Maximize your fundability
  2. Structure a term sheet
  3. Connect with angels
  4. Give your pitch
  5. Close the deal

I cover each step in detail: the process, the ecosystem, the terminology, the documents, the protocols, the expectations … plus common mistakes and how you can avoid them.

I focus on helping you understand how investors will evaluate your business. I have developed the Fundability Scorecard, a business assessment tool that gives you a rough measure of your fundability, with suggestions on how to improve your score. I will guide you in filling out your scorecard, so that at the end of the day, you will have a clear picture of where you stand and what steps you need to take to advance in your journey.

I also will help you understand the critical importance of embracing your funding quest as a sales process. Investors need to trust you, and trust is built through relationship. That’s why networking and people skills are so important, and I lay out specific strategies on how to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with angel investors.

Knowing the process – and the pitfalls – gives you a head start and a competitive advantage over the many other businesses seeking angel dollars.

If you recognize that you are on a quest for funding — now or in the future — I encourage you to register for the workshop.
