* When you arrive, mentors will help you choose your own adventure as you select amongst 12 offerings during the day.

* Our closing keynoters are the founders of Bacon Salt-because everything should taste like bacon! These guys have mastered "guerilla PR" for the startup. And put on quite a show.
* If you learn best by doing, be sure to choose at least one of our four workshops. Led by expert instructors you'll work within small groups to make entrepreneurial decisions, solve real-world problems, and get real-time feedback.
* Lunchtime includes a perennial favorite "VC Bistro" where you can sign-up for face-time with one of 10 venture capitalists. Indicate your preferences when you register for EU.
* After meeting with a VC, top it off by joining up to 9 other attendees over a "table topic," ranging from "angel investing" to "don't quit your day job," hosted by a local investor, exec, or startupper. Pre-registration is available online when you buy your ticket.
* Finish the day over cocktails and our "Entrepreneur Idol." Enjoy 60-second elevator pitches judged by top local media reps from Tech Flash, xconomy, the PSBJ,Times and Seattle 2.0, or throw your hat in the ring and pitch your own idea. To participate, tweet your tagline using #EUIdol hashtag, and selections will be made 11/2.

Entrepreneur Idol

Live at EU 2009: “Entrepreneur Idol!”

Tweet Your Business Pitch in 140 Characters or Less – Six Finalists Will Have 60 Seconds to Deliver Their Best Pitch, hash tag #EUIdol

At last year’s EU, NWEN invited attending entrepreneurs to deliver their best 60 second business pitch to our panel of media judges. Unfortunately, we were overwhelmed with contestants and only had time to hear a few pitches. This year, NWEN will be changing up the format. Instead of giving up the stage on a ‘first-come, first-serve’ basis, we’re inviting attending EU participants to boil down their business pitch to a single 140-character Tweet (using the #EUIdol hashtag). NWEN’s steering committee will then select the FIVE best pitches to present live to the EU audience and our panel of media judges. In addition, NWEN will be working with TechFlash to award a “People’s Choice” winner — whoever tweets the most popular business pitch will be awarded a FREE pass to this year’s EU (a $275 value) and the opportunity to give their 60 second pitch alongside the other 5 finalists. Following each 60 second pitch, the media panel will give their critiques and score each presenter. While we can make no guarantees, the winner of our 60 second pitch just might get some fantastic local press exposure!

Cost:

Members: $150

Non-Members: $275 - you will receive a FREE 1 year NWEN membership with your ticket to EU. (value $125)

Students: $50

We are currently reviewing applications for student scholarships; we have 100 available. Those not selected may still attend the event at full price. Please click here to download the application, once completed, please email kbailey@NWEN.org with the subject line: EU Student Scholarships, to begin the process!
